Q: What is your favorite outdoor activity?
A: Anywhere I travel, I look for a reputable horse barn or stable. The best views are always from the saddle. It is a great way to connect with nature and explore places you might not be able to get to by foot.
Q: What is the most fun part-time job you've ever had?
A: In high school, I worked at a flower shop in Potomac, MD. Imagine a northern version of Steel Magnolias and you'll have an idea of the amazing environment that was Floral Designs. I learned all about flowers, plants, event planning and sales. More importantly it taught me that sometimes you meet people at their happiest moments or when their grief seems insurmountable, you have to accept them as they are and be kind. The lessons I learned from the women and men at the flower shop stay with me to this day.
Q: What is the best piece of advice for taking care of the Reedy River?
A: Litter is my number 1 pet peeve so please don't litter (which includes dumping liquids into the river). When you see litter, if safe, please pick it up and recycle it or put it in the proper place. And of course, be a part of our River Sweeps! It is one of the most rewarding things you can do to help our Reedy.
